When I first started my Kundalini yoga teacher training in Brooklyn ashram, home of Sat Jagat and Guru Surya, I had my eyes open and my discernment antenna on.
I knew I had to do the teacher training, I knew I had to learn more about this amazing practice, but there was also doubt in my mind.
What am I getting myself in to?
Is this practice for real or are all the people just brainwashed participants of the cult?
I am deeply grateful that the situation at the time brought us from isolated yoga studio environment into this Brooklyn Ashram.
What I saw in all my teachers and the long time practitioners of Kundalini yoga was a pure gold.
I saw people who were firmly grounded in reality, people with houses, families, careers, businesses.
I saw people who were trustworthy, who were prosperous, who lived from their heart, in contentment, grace and love.
Everyone has their cross to bare, everyone has their shadows but the level of grace that you will chose to live on makes your life more enjoyable.
So if this is a life that I might have a chance of experiencing, than I say, 100 times YES.
Yogi Bhajan’s Prosperity Affirmation for Aquarian Age is exactly about the values and virtues that I saw on that first day of my teacher training.
That’s why I choose to repeat this affirmation every day.
